Missions are an official Retro Tower Defense progression system and a reliable reason to choose one mode, map or tower over another. Exact tasks, reset times and rewards rotate in the live experience, so this guide focuses on reading conditions correctly, stacking compatible objectives and checking credit before committing a long session. Public VIP information also lists an extra daily mission; verify the current benefit live.
Mission planning board
Build a daily route
Open every mission panel before queueing and group tasks that share a map, mode or tower. Do the shortest uncertainty check first: if you are unsure whether co-op damage counts personally, run a brief test and inspect the counter. This is cheaper than learning after an hour that the condition was not credited.
Prioritize expiring tasks you can complete reliably. A large reward attached to a low-clear-rate modifier may be worse than two quick compatible missions. Claim completed rewards before reset or event expiration; a filled counter is not always the same as a claimed reward.
Keep mission loadouts playable
Do not fill all six slots with mission objects. Reserve an opener, wave clear and durable-target answer, then use flex slots for the named tower or class. If a task asks for placements, make sure repeating cheap placements does not consume the cash or legal tiles needed to finish the run.
For a win requirement, survival takes priority over action count. For a pure placement or upgrade task that credits before completion, verify whether leaving early preserves progress; do not assume it does. Follow the live wording.
Co-op credit
Tell teammates which condition you need. Some wording may count party completion while other tasks may require your own tower, damage or action. Record the counter before the match and compare afterward. If each player needs a named unit, plan lanes so the mission placements still contribute to defense.
Troubleshooting missing progress
- Confirm the exact difficulty and map spelling.
- Check whether “complete” means win rather than enter.
- Verify personal versus party action.
- Check that the tower skin and base tower count the same way; do not assume.
- Rejoin if the panel appears stale, then inspect before replaying.
- Save screenshots of the mission text and final counter for official support.
Weekly routine
Use one familiar short map for quick dailies, one stable Hard/Endless build for resource tasks, and one event loadout. Record which missions overlap. Recheck after updates because objectives and rewards can rotate without an old guide changing.
Missions are most efficient when they guide a run you can already complete. If a condition makes the defense unreliable, separate it from the win mission instead of losing both.
Mission priority rule
Sort active tasks by expiration, certainty and overlap. Complete a short expiring mission first when its credit is understood. Combine longer tasks only when they share map or mode without forcing a weak team. Leave a high-reward challenge for later if its failure rate consumes more time than several reliable objectives.
For spend or summon tasks, confirm the exact currency and whether spending is worth the reward; a mission does not automatically make a poor purchase efficient.
Keep evidence for unclear credit
Take a screenshot of the task and counter, perform one minimum qualifying action, then capture the counter again. For co-op, note who placed the tower or dealt the damage. For a win task, allow the result screen to finish and claim the reward.
If progress remains unchanged, rejoin once and reread the wording. Do not repeat a long run until map, difficulty, personal/team credit and completion state are known. When contacting support, provide the two counter screenshots, setup and approximate time without exposing account credentials.
