Retro Tower Defense Endless Mode

Prepare a Retro Tower Defense Endless run with scaling damage, economy timing, upgrade priorities, replacement space, and dated wave notes.

The official Retro Tower Defense description defines Endless as the mode where players “see how long you can last against infinite waves.” That makes survival depth, not a fixed clear, the useful result. Exact wave composition, rewards, modifiers, and records can change, so build the run around observed failure points and dated evidence.

Prepare a scaling loadout

Bring an opener that survives while the economy is weak, repeatable group clear, durable-target damage, and support or economy that becomes valuable over a long run. The fifth slot should address a known detection, range, control, or replacement problem shown by your current cards.

Do not fill every slot with expensive late-game towers. If none can be placed before the opening lane breaks, theoretical maximum damage is irrelevant. Likewise, do not bring only cheap starters; Endless eventually tests scaling and placement limits.

Build economy without losing the lane

Start combat coverage first, then add economy when the current defense has a safe margin. Record the wave when each economy investment repays its round cost. A generator that pays back after your usual failure point is not helping that run.

Preserve emergency cash for a leak, a second entrance, or a key upgrade. If auto-skip exists in the current UI, disable it while learning. Extra preparation time can reveal when support or replacement placement should happen.

Reserve the best map positions

Identify curves, overlapping path segments, long sightlines, and limited central tiles before placing. Use ordinary early towers on positions they can later leave. Reserve premium coverage for units that scale through many upgrades or buff several placements.

Spread critical damage if an enemy or modifier can disrupt a cluster. Leave at least one replacement tile for a later specialist. Selling an early tower is useful only when the new placement adds more value than the lost coverage and sell penalty.

Upgrade by the current failure point

After every run, write the last stable wave, first leak, enemy pattern, cash balance, active abilities, and unused placements. If groups leak, invest in target coverage or sustained clear. If one durable enemy survives, improve focused pressure. If upgrades arrive late, reconsider the economy schedule.

Change one variable in the next run. A new tower, placement, trait, and modifier used together may improve the record, but it will not explain why.

Coordinate group roles

Before starting, assign opening defense, economy timing, support placement, and late damage. Avoid redundant buffs if live tooltips show that they do not stack. Tell teammates which central tiles you need and which towers you expect to sell.

Record party size with every result. A coordinated group record cannot be used as a solo wave promise. If another player leaves, stabilize coverage before continuing the original build order.

Use community walkthroughs as test leads

The following current community walkthrough is useful because it demonstrates an actual Endless run and placement sequence. Treat its tower stats, patch state, and wave timing as Community corroborated, then compare them with the live interface.

Do not copy coordinates blindly. Screen scale, map version, unit balance, party composition, and traits may differ. Extract the decision—such as reserving an overlap or delaying an economy upgrade—and reproduce it under controlled conditions.

Keep a useful Endless record

A shareable record needs UTC date, map, party size, modifiers, complete loadout and tiers, traits, final wave, defeat cause, and whether a disconnect occurred. Include a screenshot of the result screen when available. “Reached wave 100” without conditions is not a strategy.

Compare personal bests only on matching conditions. A modifier-free result and an event rule set may belong on separate boards.

Endless readiness checklist

Confirm an affordable opener, scalable damage, group coverage, boss pressure, an economy repayment plan, support compatibility, and reserved placement space. Test each component in a shorter mode before combining it. Use Difficulties to separate mode expectations and Tower Tier List to evaluate role-specific performance.

Confidence: Endless being infinite is Official, and the public badge catalog also confirms an Endless achievement. Exact wave data, rewards, maps, modifiers, and current meta need in-game testing. The embedded video is Community corroborated.
