Modifiers change a Retro Tower Defense run and may raise or lower Tix/EXP rewards. The lookup below is community-reported, checked on August 28, 2026, and should be verified in the current mode selector. Community documentation says modifier access begins around level 10, but the live UI is the final source for unlock level, compatibility and reward percentage.
Community modifier index
Percentages may be changed, rounded or combined differently in the current build. Never plan a long farm from this table without reading the selector.
Choose modifiers by repeatable yield
A +30% label is not profitable if it doubles reset rate or run time. Compare reward gained per real minute with the same map and team. Track Tix, EXP and event progress separately. Start with one modifier, learn its first failure, then add another only after the clear is stable.
Negative reward modifiers can still help a badge, mission or testing objective, but they should not be described as farming boosts. Confirm whether modifiers stack additively, multiplicatively or under a cap in the live summary.
Adapt the loadout
Range changes demand new placements. Speed or extra-enemy modifiers demand earlier AoE/control. Cash restrictions demand a cheaper opener and stricter farm payback. Class or support restrictions require a full legal loadout check before queueing. Property modifiers require confirmed detection or damage types.
In co-op, make sure every player sees the same selected rules and agrees on the objective. Assign opening lanes and recovery cash. A teammate’s restricted tower can invalidate the plan even if your own six slots are legal.
Safe progression
- Clear the selected map without modifiers.
- Add one low-impact positive modifier.
- Record time, reward and first near-leak.
- Fix that breakpoint.
- Add a second condition only if yield improves.
The best modifier set is not the one with the largest displayed bonus. It is the highest bonus your team can repeat without frequent resets.
Modifier combination worksheet
Record the live text for every selected condition, the displayed final reward adjustment and whether the selector warns about incompatibility. Do not add community percentages yourself and assume the game uses the same formula. Capture the summary before starting.
Run the baseline first, then one modifier, then the intended combination. Keep map, loadout, party and stopping point constant. Compare completion rate, real minutes, Tix, EXP and event progress separately. A condition can improve one resource while hurting another.
Recovery planning
For speed and extra-enemy rules, move the first area or control breakpoint earlier. For range changes, preview every important circle again. For cash rules, identify a cheaper legal opener and delay economy. For class restrictions, inspect all six slots and teammate loadouts.
Keep one exit placement and emergency reserve during the first combined run. If the same failure repeats, remove the condition that causes it or fix that role before adding more reward. Reliable clears compound progress better than a large bonus attached to frequent resets. Recheck the displayed reward summary after every selection change.
