Trading is explicitly advertised in the official Retro Tower Defense description, but public first-party text does not define current unlock requirements, eligible item types, fees, limits, or reversal policy. Read the live trade interface for every transaction. A safe trade verifies identity and both offer panels at the final confirmation, not only in chat.
Verify that your account can trade
Open the current Trading area or player interaction and read any lock message. Record required level, playtime, account setting, verification, pass, or tutorial step exactly as displayed. Do not pay another player to “unlock” a feature.
Check whether the tower, skin, traited copy, event reward, or other item is marked tradable. Two items with the same character name can differ by tier, skin, trait, serial, or source. Select the exact owned copy.
Prepare the item identity
Screenshot the full card before entering a trade. Record name, tier or path, rarity, trait, skin, level, lock state, and any limited or serial label. If the interface hides details after adding the item, compare the card again before accepting.
Do not use rarity as value. Scarcity, current availability, combat performance, demand, and event return risk are separate. A rare-looking border does not prove a collector premium.
Start a direct trade
Use the in-game interaction with the intended player and verify their exact Roblox display and account name. Impersonators can use similar letters or a matching avatar. Do not move the deal to a link sent through chat.
Add only the agreed items. Wait for both panels to finish updating after every change. If a player removes, swaps, or adds an item, restart your review from the beginning.
Review the final confirmation
Read your “give” side and your “receive” side aloud or line by line. Expand every card and confirm quantity, tier, trait, skin, and serial. Check any fee or currency field and the final net result.
Never accept under a countdown imposed by the other player. A legitimate item remains reviewable. If the confirmation differs from the discussion, cancel; the interface, not chat, defines the transaction.
Avoid common trade scams
Decline trust trades, borrowing, duplication claims, “verification” transfers, middlemen without an official game role, cross-game promises, Robux side payments, and links asking for credentials. Do not share cookies, one-time codes, screen-control access, or account files.
Be wary of last-second substitutions, visually similar names, an unlisted tier, or a skin being shown as if it were the underlying tower. A screenshot of an inventory is not proof the displayed item will remain in the final panel.
Record the completed trade
After acceptance, wait for the success state and open inventory. Confirm each received item and that each offered item left. Save UTC date, both account names, exact item cards, final panel, and receipt or transaction identifier if shown.
If something is wrong, stop further trading, preserve evidence, and use official Roblox or experience reporting routes. Do not retaliate, threaten, or attempt to recover value through another risky deal.
Evaluate value before offering
Use recent completed observations, current acquisition status, supply, demand, and exact item variant. An external value list such as Vaulted Values can provide a Community-reported reference, but it is not Plaything Games’ official promise and may lag event changes.
The Value List explains confidence and update dates. The Trading Calculator provides a manual comparison worksheet without pretending uncertain community values are exact.
Safe trade checklist
Before accepting, confirm:
- Correct partner identity.
- Trading unlocked through the official UI.
- Exact eligible copy on both sides.
- Tier, trait, skin, quantity, and serial.
- Current acquisition status and evidence date.
- Any fee and final net value.
- No off-platform payment or account access.
- Final panel unchanged after the last review.
Cancel whenever a field is unclear. Missing one opportunity is cheaper than losing an item.
Confidence boundary
The existence of Trading is Official. Specific UI steps, account requirements, eligible items, limits, fees, holds, confirmation timing, and reversal behavior need in-game verification. External values and player offers are Community reported and can change rapidly.
