Survey the map before placing
Trace every enemy entrance to the base and identify where paths cross, run parallel, or curve back into the same range circle. Look for central tiles that can cover several useful segments and edge tiles that see only the opening or exit.
Keep one premium overlap open while you learn. A cheap starter may need early coverage, but placing it in the only long-term central position can force an expensive sell later. Take a screenshot of the empty layout for reference.
Establish the opener
Choose the cheapest owned tower that can reliably engage the first path. Place it where enemies remain in range long enough for multiple attacks. Preserve cash for a second lane or necessary upgrade rather than immediately adding an economy unit.
