Trait rerolling can permanently replace a useful result, so preparation matters more than chasing a fashionable name. Community reports place Retro Tower Defense trait interaction at Wanda near the Summon area. Verify that location and every prompt in the current experience; first-party public materials do not specify the NPC, reroll currency, price, odds, or retention rules.
Verify the interface before spending
Select the exact tower and tier you intend to change. Screenshot its current trait and card, then read the reroll screen from top to bottom. Confirm the resource icon, cost per attempt, current balance, target tower, possible-result panel, and whether a confirmation or keep/replace choice appears.
If any label is unclear, back out and compare the resource icon with your inventory. Do not assume that Tix, event currency, and a trait-specific item are interchangeable. Do not test the button on a valuable unit just to discover what it consumes.
Define a target by effect
Write down the tower’s job and the effect family that would improve it. “More reliable early coverage” is safer than “whatever the rarest trait is.” Use the live Trait List to confirm the desired result exists and read its current wording.
Choose an acceptable fallback. If the current roll already helps the correct role, set a higher threshold for replacement. A rare label that offers the wrong effect can be worse than a common, relevant improvement.
Set a hard budget and stop rule
Decide the maximum number of attempts or resource amount before the first roll. Keep enough currency for other account goals. The official game description confirms towers also come from Summoning, Missions, Events, and Trading; exhausting all progression resources on one trait can delay a whole loadout.
Stop when you receive the target, an acceptable fallback, or reach the budget. Stop if the live cost changes. Stop if the interface selects a different tower. A losing streak is not evidence that a rare result is “due.”
Run the reroll safely
Use this sequence for every attempt:
- Confirm tower name, tier, and current trait.
- Confirm cost and remaining balance.
- Activate one reroll and wait for the result to finish.
- Capture the exact new name and effect text.
- Use keep/replace only after rereading both options, if that choice exists.
- Update the remaining budget before another attempt.
Avoid rapid clicking, especially on mobile or a slow connection. A delayed animation can hide whether an input was accepted. If the game disconnects, rejoin and verify the saved trait before continuing.
Test the result in a controlled match
Do not judge only by the card. Return to the same map, difficulty, modifiers, placement, and upgrade path used for the old trait. Record early stability, cash timing, lane coverage, target handling, and any ability change. Repeat enough attack cycles to avoid mistaking animation variance for an effect.
For a support or economy trait, measure the whole team or repayment timing. For a boss trait, isolate the same durable target. Label exact tooltip wording In-game verified and the observed match effect Tested.
Record outcomes without inventing odds
A personal log can show what happened, but a few attempts do not establish official probability. Record UTC date, tower version, result, displayed chance if present, cost, and whether the result was kept. Never convert ten rolls into a confident percentage.
If community sources publish odds, compare them with the current possible-result interface. Mark mismatches as stale. The live UI wins over a wiki table or old video.
Recover from a bad result
If the budget ends on a weaker trait, stop anyway. Use the tower in an easier role, switch to a reliable backup unit, and rebuild resources through normal play. Do not sell or trade the tower in frustration without checking eligibility and value separately.
Review why the reroll started. If the underlying tower was not solving a real loadout problem, improving its trait may never have been the right investment. The Best Traits page helps evaluate this by role.
Confidence: the safety workflow is reliable. Wanda and the nearby Summon location are Community reported. Live cost, currency, probabilities, result pool, confirmation behavior, and locking mechanics all need in-game verification on the active build.
