A Retro Tower Defense trading calculator cannot make uncertain community estimates official. The safest calculator is a transparent worksheet that records exact variants, low and high reference ranges, confidence, demand, and event-return risk on both sides. The final decision still depends on the live confirmation panel.
Enter exact items
For every Give and Receive item, record name, tier or path, trait, skin, serial, quantity, tradable state, and current source. Split bundles into separate rows. Do not enter a skin as the underlying tower or treat two different tiers as equal copies.
Open each live card during the transaction. If the other player will not show a needed field in the official interface, assign Unknown and stop rather than guessing.
Add a range, not a magic number
Use a low and high community reference from recent completed observations. Attach the source and UTC date. If only asking prices exist, label them Offers and reduce confidence. If no comparable exact variant exists, leave the range unknown.
Sum lows together and highs together for each side. Do not average incompatible units from different value lists. A total is meaningful only when every row uses the same reference basis.
Apply confidence
Mark each row High, Medium, Low, or Unknown community confidence. High needs several recent matching exact-variant observations; Medium has consistent but limited evidence; Low includes old, bundled, or unverified claims.
The bundle’s confidence cannot exceed its weakest decision-critical row. If an Unknown received item creates the apparent win, the trade is not safely favorable.
Adjust for demand and availability
Add a qualitative demand label—rising, steady, thin, or falling—and current acquisition state—active, rotating, closed, or unknown. These are decision notes, not arithmetic multipliers. Inventing a universal “demand ×1.2” gives false precision.
Mark rerun risk, balance sensitivity, and trade-eligibility risk. A temporarily closed event source may return. A combat tower’s demand may change after a patch. Collector value and battle utility should remain separate.
Calculate the comparison
Use four outputs:
- Give low-to-high range.
- Receive low-to-high range.
- Overlap between the two ranges.
- Confidence and risk notes that determine whether the difference matters.
If the ranges overlap heavily, call the trade roughly even or uncertain. If Receive remains above Give even under conservative values and the evidence is comparable, it may be favorable. If Give remains above Receive, it may be unfavorable. Never omit personal utility: an item you need can justify a small premium.
Example without invented RTD prices
Suppose Give Item A has a recent Medium-confidence range of 90–110 reference units and Receive Item B has 95–125. The ranges overlap, so “15 profit” based on midpoints would be misleading. If B also has thin demand and an event rerun risk, the worksheet should return Uncertain, not Win.
This example demonstrates the math only. It is not a value claim about any real Retro Tower Defense item.
Verify the final panel
Recalculate when either player changes an item, trait, tier, skin, quantity, or fee. Inspect every card again after the panel locks. The other player’s chat summary is not the transaction.

Keep a dated receipt
Save both final panels, UTC date, account names, exact item cards, values used, sources, and decision. After the trade, confirm inventory state. Later price movement does not retroactively make a careful trade fraudulent; it shows why the timestamp matters.
Do not build an automated public calculator from scraped rumors without a review path. Stale precision can mislead more players than a clearly marked manual range.
Decision checklist
Confirm exact variants, one shared value unit, recent evidence, confidence per row, acquisition status, demand, return risk, personal utility, and unchanged final panel. Cancel when a decision depends on an Unknown.
