Chance is a limited, damage-focused tower introduced with the Retro Tower Defense x Forsaken collaboration. During the active event, the documented route is to earn 5,000 Event Pass points, open the Event Pass and claim the central Chance node. Chance is not described as a normal Summon pull, so rolling the standard banner is not the route shown by current event guides.
This is a time-sensitive unlock. Open the live event panel before farming and confirm that the Chance node, point requirement and countdown still appear. If the collaboration has ended, treat the tower as limited or return-unknown until the game shows another route; do not spend on a community trade or unrelated pass because an old guide says the event was active.
Quick Chance lookup
How to unlock Chance
- Launch the official Retro Tower Defense experience, not a similarly named game or third-party server.
- In the lobby, open the Forsaken event panel and switch to Event Pass.
- Locate Chance on the central branch and read the requirement shown in your client. Current screenshot-backed guides show 5,000 points.
- Play event matches until the pass total reaches the node. The current guide describes points as match progress rather than a separate Chance quest.
- Return to the Event Pass and claim the node. Reaching the number is not enough if the reward remains unclaimed.
- Open the tower inventory and confirm Chance appears as an equipable tower before changing servers.
If Chance does not appear, check three things in order: the progress total has actually saved, the node has been claimed rather than merely reached, and the tower is not hidden by an inventory filter. Rejoin only after taking a screenshot of the pass and inventory; this gives support or moderators useful evidence if the save failed.
Documented base stats
Current interface screenshots reproduced by a detailed event guide show the following base card. These values are community corroborated, not permanent patch notes, so compare them with your owned card after any update.
The high documented placement price is the most important build fact. Bring a cheaper opening tower and stabilize the lane before saving for Chance. In short modes, the run may end before Chance repays the slot; in long or boss-heavy play, its critical and card windows can justify the investment.
Deal Cards and the Another One trait
Deal Cards draws temporary effects. Current guides document Snake Eyed for cooldown pressure, Ace of Spades for critical damage, High Roller for critical chance, Color Up for a free level, and Royal Flush for a larger combined damage window. Because the effects are temporary, use the action before a boss or dense wave rather than pressing it while the lane is already empty.
The Chance-specific Another One trait is reported to increase the draw from three cards to four. Treat that as a live-tooltip mechanic: confirm the exact wording on your copy before spending rerolls. A useful trait on an actively deployed Chance is better than consuming all reroll resources to chase a screenshot from another patch.
Build around variance. Keep steady wave clear beside Chance so a weak draw does not immediately lose the run. During a strong draw, focus upgrades and boss timing to exploit the window. Do not sell the opener too early; Chance’s placement and card outcome can leave a temporary gap.
Chance loadout role
Use Chance as boss pressure or a late damage flex. Pair it with an affordable opener, an AoE tower for clustered enemies, and support or control that benefits the same central area. An economy slot can help reach $17,500 in long modes, but only if the lane remains safe while it pays back.
For an all-purpose structure, see the Best Loadout. For long sessions, compare Endless Loadout and the DPS Tier List. Those pages keep Chance’s volatile peak separate from more consistent damage towers.

Chance FAQ
Is Chance a Summon tower?
The documented Forsaken route uses the Event Pass, not the standard banner. If a later update moves Chance, follow the source displayed on the live tower card.
What happens after the event ends?
The original earning route can close while owned copies remain. Label the tower limited or return-unknown until the game shows a rerun, path, pass or other source. Do not promise that trading is enabled for every copy.
Should I use Chance as my first placement?
Usually no: the documented $17,500 base price makes it a late investment. Bring an affordable opener and save after the lane is stable.
